McGee, Alan (mananger)
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1961, McGee worked as a railroad clerk while
in his late teens. After forming a band called the Laughing Apple and publishing a fanzine, in
1983 McGee and cohort Dirk Green founded a club in London called the Living
Room. Buoyed by the success of their club, McGee and Dirk Green, along with Joe
Foster, decided to start a record label. Named after the '60s mod rock
outfit, Creation Records' first release was by "The Legend" It was a 7" so
bad that McGee reportedly hid most of the records underneath his bed,
eventually melting them down after a dispute with the band.
Alan McGee became the manager of the Lilac Time in 1989 at roughly the same
time they signed to Creation AND released "And Love For All" on Phonogram.
It was not to be a lasting relationship with one album, one UK and one
German single before parting ways and the Lilac Time part I folded into an 8
year hiatus. Creation records folded in 2000 and Alan now runs "Poptones" records.

Mulligan, John (bass, synthesisers)
John Mulligan was part of "Fashion", a Birmingham band, from 1978 onwards. Releasing albums
with a smokey funk-jazz electro- sound, the most notable of which was "Fabrique" in 1982.
He briefly joined Stephen to form "TinTin" along with Dik Davies, also of "Fashion". Recently he has
become more involved in fashion photography. Irony?
