Giri, Michael (percussion, drums)
Michael Giri was a slight acquaintance of Stephen's and an old friend of Michael Weston. Stephen called him up, when they were recording "The Lilac Time" and Michael came down and brought his bongos along. He played drums and percussions on the first four The Lilac Time albums and then again on "Looking For A Day In The Night". Other bands he plays drums and percussions for include Frazer & Friends and Colt. |

Gotch, Tarquin (manager)
Born on the March 6th, 1952 in London, Tarquin was Stephen's manager throughout his early career. He was also manager to other Duffy associations XTC, The Dream Academy and Kate St. John. It was to Tarquin that the estate of Herge wrote to complain about the use of the word "Tin Tin" in July 1985. He was the music supervisor to a whole host of John Hughes films in the late 1980s. This is probably the main reason why "She Loves Me" got used on "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Full of Love" by Dr. Calculus was used on "She's Having a Baby", in an effort to get Stephen exposure to a worldwide audience. An acrimonious split in 1989 saw Tarquin replaced by Alan McGee. As Stephen recalls "Alan McGee became our manger when the last one disregarded the contract he had insisted upon and went to Hollywood to produce movies." |

Guirey, Sagat (guitar)
Apart from featuring on The Lilac Time's album "Astronauts" and Stephen's solo album "Music in Colors" Sagat has worked with a long list of artists, including the likes of Nigel Kennedy, Bryan Ferry, Roachford, Wendy James, Jermaine Stewart, Mikey Craig, Nick Kamen, Nick Laird Clowes, Howard Shore and many more. The track "The Rain Falls Deepest On The Shortest Haircut", which was released on the Japan version of "Astronauts" and the CD singles for "Dreaming" and "In Iverna Gardens", was written and produced by Sagat. It is erroneously credited to Stephen on the sleeves. Apart from playing all kinds of guitars, he also plays bass, banjo, mandolin and works as an engineer. He has his own studio, where he writes and records and he has composed many ads shown on tv (including the Nike Prince Naseem promos) and tracks used in films. Sagat has released an album called "Guitarras Atomicas!", which features a collection of creative guitar samples. He has his own trio with guitar, bass and drums and he plays in a quartet with Dorian Ford, called Sparky and Marky. Check out his myspace for some more of his songs. |
