Q: What did Mike Reid ask Stephen in the interview on "Runaround"?
Q (cntd): Verity asked us "I remember seeing Stephen perform on Mike Reid's kids' programme "Runaround", in 1985, I think it must have been. Duffy said in the short interview beforehand that he had been "rather rebelious" in his youth. It was his reply to a question asked by Mr. Reid, but I can't remember the question. Anyone have it on tape or, even better, is anyone able to transcribe said interview?"

A: Verity, unfortunately we don't know the answer to this question. If anyone else knows what question Stephen replied to, please contact us!

Q: What are "The Ups and Downs" and "The Lilac Times"?
A: Other than being Stephen's first album, "The Ups and Downs" was a fanzine set up and run by Stan Hocevar from Ohio, USA. Starting in about 1992 and released on a quarterly (seasonal) basis, initial copies were purely black and white, later running to coloured paper covers for later issues. The
magazine grew from about 20 to 40 pages per issue over its lifespan. Being
pre-internet it offered fans a reliable and quick (for the 90s) way of finding out what Stephen was up to and news about upcoming releases. Each magazine would have an introduction from Stan AND a letter from Stephen, a snail mail blog of what he was up to. There would usually be fan written reviews of past albums, home-made artwork, a letters section and a messages section where fans could offer their duffy duplicate records or make contact with new or long lost Duffy friends.

The Lilac Times was an official news-sheet sent out from the Bromyard PO Box2 address. It was usually a few sheets of A4 with intricate artwork, poetry, news, reviews from newspapers, upcoming releases and gig lists. Generally what the boys were, or had been, up to. It ran for most of the time the band were with Phonogram.

Both "The Ups & Downs" and "The Lilac Times" can be found in the Publications section in pdf format.

Q: Has Claire Worrall's solo album been released yet?
A: There was talk of a Claire Worrall album being called "Planet Claire" as far back as 2001 with the release of Looking For A Day In The Night. So far to date nothing has been released except one demo on an EMI promo set (cat number POPCON1). The track is called "Here I Stand (demo)". POPCON1 is a 13 track set that fits with ALTCON1 and DANCON1 to form a 40 track set. This set featured 40 of EMI's artists in the Dance, Alternative and Pop. They obviously saw Claire as POP. There are no known plans for a release at present.
