In the years 1988 and 1990 The Lilac Time played live on a number of BBC radio shows. Parts of the so-called "BBC sessions" have been released on the 2006 reissues of "The Lilac Time" and "And Love For All".

The BBC Radio 2 Chillout sessions usually take place on Bank Holiday Mondays. A couple have included some special tracks from Stephen Duffy & The Lilac Time.
